We are looking for an outstanding Head of QA to work alongside our CTO to drive our QA and testing strategy in the technology organisation.

Role
This role reports directly into the CTO and will establish a new QA organisation.
The successful candidate will:
- Line-manage, coach and mentor several QA engineers across multiple teams within the firm.
- Own and be accountable for driving our QA strategy firm-wide by maximising automation in the QA function and ensuring excellent coverage and auditability of testing for all our SaaS products.
- Design, build and evolve test assets, frameworks and automation codebases.
- Drive process improvement in the QA function (agile, devops, etc) within the firm.
- Spearhead skills development and training initiatives in the QA organisation to ensure that our technology capabilities remain relevant and well-honed.
- Be actively involved in recruiting and retaining talent.
- Act as a key point of contact to Product and Operations teams.
You
- Write clear, self-documenting code
- Are a problem solver, a pragmatist and a fast learner who is not dogmatic
- Have experience building modern web application test frameworks with TypeScript and Playwright.
- Have solid experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines and version management systems (git).
- Have experience leading QA teams that can test modern web apps in cloud environments
- Have knowledge and interest in backend serverless architectures, including messaging and event sourcing, eventual consistency, and microservices
- Think independently and love sharing your knowledge with others
- Have excellent people, leadership, management and coaching skills with a proven track record of leading, managing and growing technology teams and organisations.
- Have an excellent systems-oriented mindset with the ability to delve into deep detail to find bugs and squash them.
- Have some experience working in mission-critical industries like finance.
- Probably have a technical degree and 5+ years of real-world development and/or QA experience
